FAQ
Why does Korean text get split into Jamo?
Filenames created on macOS and text copied from some programs store Hangul in decomposed form (Unicode NFD). Viewed on Windows or other systems, '한글' then appears as 'ㅎㅏㄴㄱㅡㄹ'.
What kind of input can be combined?
Both conjoining Jamo (U+1100–U+11FF, NFD form) and compatibility Jamo typed on a keyboard (ㄱ, ㅏ, etc.). Non-Jamo characters, spaces and line breaks are kept as they are.
Why do characters look separated after pasting?
When you paste, an invisible separator (ZWNJ) is inserted between Jamo so you can see the separated state. It is removed automatically on conversion and does not remain in the result.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser; your text is never uploaded or stored.
What if many filenames are broken?
Use the Windows program on this page (NMFileRenamer) to combine separated Jamo in filenames in bulk and convert/remove special characters.
